Somebody told me that a picture I'd taken looked better in Black and white. When I tried it, the result didn't really appeal (at least, not to me).

But it gave me the idea of lowering the amount of colour saturation (the centrepiece of the picture was a brilliantly red tulip).

When I did this, most of the picture came out near-black-and-white, but the colour of the tulip persisted, though of course a lot paler.

Do you think the effect's interesting?

It doesn't do it for me Herb I'm afraid. It looks washed out. Of course, that is just me.

You're right about red standing out. That really stood out for me when bcoultry set the red challenge a while back. It's odd isn't it?

Ferny - Then I think you'd have liked the plain B & W version (256 greys actually) even less.
