ok, i gotta know...apparently your technique was different then i thought.

i figured you selected a color, and making it a path made it shaped like that...but i was wrong (that's wat i did with this mum shot)

with the pen tool your basically just tracing the photo.

start with the sillhouette of the hair, or another basic shape and get used to how to bend and shape your lines with the pentool, if you cant trace around a sillhouette, then it's time to follow a tutorial!! http://www.gurusnetwork.com/tutorial/pen/1/

this one is fairly good. its best to have someone show you.. but this is the next best thing.

keep at it.. i was frustrated and thought this tool would take me nowhere when i started with it a few years ago, now i use nothing but to get my artwork done.

ah...so you really did each colored piece of hair seperately?

lol, did you get really fast at it?

i got the basic stuff down, but i'm not very fast...like, i could trace around pretty much anything (lol, within reason ) but it wouldn't be fast...

so that's how you did it? traced then "filled" the path?
