There have been so many photos of Half Dome. I decided to play around with mine a bit.

Thanks Dave. Here's the details.

I made about five images with a good 3 megapixel digital camera. I stitched them together with Canon's Photostitch software.

The modifying work was done in Photoshop CS. First I cut out the sky and put it aside. After that I ran an action I picked up at actioncentral.

They have a wide variety of Photoshop actions, all free. The one I used on this image is called Cartoon Action. There are many other actions there worth looking into. I like the Pop Artist action as well.

Nice one , BruceMcL !

Both the panorama and the elaboration.

BTW, you can have a similar effect with the Poster Edges filter in Photoshop as well.

Thanx for sharing the link.

Thanks for the kind words, brtsergio.

I should mention another action over at action central called digital fill flash. That one comes in very handy.

Ps. My print of this image comes back from the frame shop in 3 days. I can't wait!

Open up the Actions window and tehre is a Load Actions menu item under the little triangle in the upper right part of the window. At least that's how it works on the Macintosh.

It is the same for Windows...never would have looked in the spot i found it though...

I just tried the fill in flash that you mentioned, it works like a charm...cant wait to try some more actions...

Very nice Dave. If you are looking for more actions to try, how about a shot of Digital Velvia from the same site, or go nuts with PopArtist from this site:
