If you had moved physically a few paces to the right of where you were standing, I think you may have gotten a better angle for the shot; however, it's very nicely done as is.

UnfortunatelyI had a dugout next to me. I was as far to the right as I could stand.

That's kind of what I figured when I saw the angle. At any rate, it's very nicely done.

Thanks for the complement, it was certainly harder that I anticipated it being.

What steps did you do to get that effect? My son is a pitcher and would like to get a shot like that.

It appears that the final image is a combination of three separate shots of the pitcher in varying stances. The two in the backgroundextracted from their original pics and placed on their own layers and the opacity reduced to simulate movement.

I think.

It is a very nice image.

Actually I didn't even have to extract them, they lined up very nicely after a little editing. All three pictures had different exposures, but nothing PS can't handle. Then i zoomed in as far as I could and lined the photos up untill the image was sharp. I only had to erase a small part of one of the photos because it would not line up with the others. I did reduce all of the opacity's except for the very back photo. Other than that, I just used a monopod and let my Digital Rebel shoot away while the pitcher was throwing the ball. Thanks for the good comments.
