This is an old photo of my stepdaughter, Shona. The original was a bit out of focus so I put it to Dry Brush.

I like this effect for her because she use to love to paint and colour and this looks more like a painting than a photo. That and because she is just so darn cute!!

The brushstrokes give an almost 3d quality, like a carved statue. It's reinforced by the same sort of texture on the lawn jockey figure behind her.

I like it.

Thanks Barabarian,

If you check out my other postings in this section you will notice I use Dry Brush more than anything. It gives a painted look to the pictures and fixes up any out-of-focus shots. It's a creative way to cheat and make a bad shot look like a GOOD shot!!

Works for me!
