Epson Perfection 1260 scanner program

My Epson scanner - bought several years ago - came with it's own CD that installed a program to operate it.

The original program works satisfactorily, but just for curiosity I searched, a few days ago, for an alternative & found this - Epson10404.exe - (it's in a zip file).

I've found that it works much more easily than does the original Epson program. All I need do is load the paper to be copied in the scanner, switch on the power supply to the scanner, and when I hear it come on, press the green button. It then scans the paper and displays the result on my screen.
