My first post :!:

I've just 'gone digital' and need advice on printer options.I've read many press reviews andposts on thisforum - thanks to all contributors.

I'm greatly attracted to dye sub (Hi-Ti 730 or Mitsubishi 3020)on basis of image quality, archival life and consistency of results. Mono printing is not a key issue - I still have my darkroom!

The ink-jet convienience of quickpaper size changes - and the possibility of A3 (13*9) printing at an affordable price is attractive, but'conventional' (dye) ink is - I believe -ruled out by poor archival life.

Newer pigment-ink printers from Epson & Canon look good but image quality comes first and I understand the pigments generally have a reduced color gamut. So, I would be grateful foropinions from anyone who has compared dye-sub resultswith any of therecentpigment-ink ink-jets?

Thanks all.
