I just purchased a new CP9550DW. Have it up and running on Vista Home Premium but this is not an operating system issue as I've also tried it on XP professional. I've downloaded the proper icc profiles CP955_01.ICC, but still am having a very tough time with what I would refer to as pixelation of any areas with contrast. This is happening on images not sharpened, taken with a Canon 5D, at the highest jpg setting, so I am dealing with a good size file. Sharpening only makes it worse. I am running windows and Photoshop CS3. I've tried just about everything I can think of. I'vecreated my own profiles with Monocoptix/EZcolor, but still keep coming back to the custom ones on line. I am allowing photoshop to handle the color, and have tried both perceptual and relative. Color is not terrible but all skin tones are blotchy and the pixel issue. While obvioulsy not used for text, text does appear hazy, less than tact sharp. A interesting observation, I changed the print setting to allow the printer to manage colors, and clearly a much less in focus result. Could something be mis-aligned? Any suggestions?
