In making the choice between printers using these two technologies, I am wondering whether that choice should be strongly influenced by my intended photo print volume. Specifically, I have a need to supplement my online print services with a home photo printer but expect that home print volume to be in the 5 - 20 print a month area. Am I correct in thinking that:

This low volume will be an issue for inkjets (clogged heads and wasted ink) from low usage, but would present no problem for a dye sub printer?

Other background info: I'm a serious hobbyist, not pro. Quality (in spite of low volume needs) is my biggest consideration. A limitation to 4x6 size is not a real big issue. Cost per print is a minor consideration due to low volume, but under $0.50 is preferable.

Thanks for any advice.
