Default HiTi Transphotable - does anyone know..

still thrashing back and forth between Canon and HiTi. and here's the rub, perhaps someone knows if HiTi is about to do this:

the 640ps has some advantages to the 630ps (to the degree i could know any of this). the _perfect_ printer for me--usage-wise--is the Transphotable.

however, for reasons mysterious, HiTi used the 630ps specs for the Transphotable (best i can tell, it IS a 630ps with added casing and DC adaptor). so the question is: any hint of a Transphotable based on the 640?

also: if you were a person non-inclined to the mechanical/technical, would you find using the HiTi's a bit complex? the Canons appear simple.

thanks,
Karen

The HiTi printers are easy to use. The Transportable printer has to be connected to a computer. It is similar to the 630PL. I believe it has a faster engine and larger paper tray. The most challenging task will be to change the ribbon. It is not difficult to change the ribbon. I think the printer is user friendly.

yep the hiti's easy to use! and with the "ps" you dont even need a pc you'll be amazed at the prints. the only drawback to me is that you're limited to 4X6's

Thanks Phil and Dal81!

finally decided to go with a Canon S400 camera & CP-200 printer, mostly cause it's so dern Small, connects directly to camera, appears less susceptible to dust..hope it'll better suit my RV.

which isn't to say the HiTi's aren't better deals with far more features.

incidently, just posted some questions in the Canon forum about warranties and what xtras should i pick up to get started. ::hint, hint::

best,
Karen
