I'm considering HiTi730PS.
Read a lot positive opinions and reviews, even contacted HiTi support - so far everythigng sounds to be very promising.
What I still can't figure is whether it prints both glossy and matte, or one type only ?

I didn't find it mentioned different ribbons for that as common for other dye-sub printers.

Any hints ?

Hi,

It prints both, if you are using the photodesiree software by going into magic coat it will let you select a matte finish.

I have downloaded the new software update from Hi-Ti web site this software is slightly different layout to the version that came with the printer.

The matte effect is just that you can select large medium or fine, it looks like it just alters the way the gloss coat is applied to the paper looks okay though.

I just print out with standard gloss mode though.

I have scanned some black and white photos into photoshop elements and adjusted them a little and printed these straight out to the Hi-Touch just have to make sure the Hi-Touch printer and the correct paper sizes are selected. this will ensure you print a complete borderless photo the results of a black and white print from the colour ribbon are just fantastic look like the photo's I scanned in!!

Hope this helped

Ian

Thanks Ian.
Couldn't respond earlier - the forums were locked.

I think I'm approaching the purchase within a day or two.

No problem Alexz,

I'm sure you will not regret buying the printer, just make sure you get plenty of paper ,with the ribbon as you will not stop printing out photos!!:-)

Good luck with it
