I'd like to connect a photo printer to a wireless print server, which should allow me to send prints from a laptop to the photo printer without having to walk up and connect.

Has anyone done this? Any advice?

Thanks and regards,

Is your print server a computer with wireless? If so, just connect the printer to this, and go into the printer configuration (assuming it's Windows 2000 or XP) and choose sharing. Set it to shared and give it a name.

Then, from the laptop, choose to add a new printer, and choose a network printer - you should then be able to set up to use the printer via the print server.

That's the theory at least - in practice it might not be as simple!

Let me know if I've done a bad job of explaining this...

Thanks for the response.

The "print server" would not be another PC, but rather a card, such as a Dell 3300. Alternatively, I'm looking at a Linksys or similar device.

Regards,
