Hello everyone,

I just bought a Kodak 8500 & every print I print on it has at least 1 or 2 dust spots on it where nothing printed. They are extremely small (about the size of a pin head) but I don't want my customers to complain about them. Is this common on dye sub printers that no matter what I do there will always be a few dust spots or do I just need to spend more time cleaning it?

As I mentioned above, I have owned a Kodak 8500 for over two years and have used it quite extensively. There is one requirement that must be adhered to scrupouly with this dye sub printer: It must be kept away from the exposure to any dust particles or you will have problems. I keep mine covered at all times when not in use and I have never experienced any problems, so I don't have a remedy for the problem you are having except to say it needs a good cleaning; maybe with an air gun. Hope you the best.
