I've heard some general things about glossy-screen LCD's that opine that the glossy's display a richer black and slightly more vivid colors than the anti-glare screens. But, they are also more prone to reflections that negate whatever advantages are offered by the slicker viewing surface.

I guess this is one of those things that has to be assessed by personal observation. If you think that the glossy does offer some quality advantages, weigh those against the extra trouble it might be to set up a more controlled environment for using the glossy where light pollution and stray reflections won't significantly degrade the display.

Couldn't tell you off-hand, m' man. Look at their warranty, independent reviews of their products and user reviews if you can find 'em.

In today's competitive market, you can't make junk and stay in business very long. Hasn't Acer been around for a while?
