Two of my local photographers use photodex and it seems to work well.

Default Slideshow Maker with many effects

I understand what pizzaboy is saying because I also used Nero but I wanted more effects to make my slideshows really unique. I then found www.kizoa.com which is more a service because it's a website and you build your slideshows online. That also means they very often add more transitions and effects so now you get to a point where their catalogue is very, very big. And it's not just transitions, you can also add special effects to your pictures, like for instance a fire effect, also add motion effects to your texts and you can even add animated characters. If you want to burn your slideshows to DVD, you need to upgrade to Premium but if you're happy to just share your slideshows online, then you can stick to the free version of Kizoa.
