Hello all,

I was wondering if elements 5.0 would be a good investment. I have photoshop 7 and not sure how much more I would be able to do with elements 5. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I am not too familiar with Photoshop, but, as I understand, Elements is a subset of Photoshop. The only thing I can think of that would be an improvement is the abiltiy to use Adobe Camera Raw converter.

I have Elements 3, which came bundled with a scanner, but find I use it very little. Photoimpact is both easier to work with and more fully featured than Elements. I also prefer the object-based editing over the layer-based system Adobe uses. Maybe because I am more used to working with it, and maybe I work with it more because it makes more sense to me.

You might be stepping back but I've never tried PS7, I still use PSE1 and it works like a charm.
