Hi!

I am trying to install Kodak Easyshare 6.2 on my computer running Windows XP.

The program seems to install alright but when I restart my computer as instructed, windows won't restart.

I get the blue screen telling me there was a problem & windows was shut down.

I am able to get windows running by going into Safe Mode & doing a system restore.

I have found no word of this problem on Kodak's website.

I would really like to have this program on my computer.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I managed to solve this problem with the help of Kodak phone support.

In case anyone else has the same problem, here are the steps I took:

1) Remove ALL Kodak programs from the Add/Remove list.

2) Unplug all USB devices.

3) Run the Kodak "Clear Utility" program available through this link: www.kodak.com/go/clear(when I restarted the computer after doing this, Windows wouldn't start & I was given the black Startup screen...I chose Last Good Configuration & Windows started up no problem)

4) Delete the Kodak folder from C: Program Files & C: Common Files.

5) RunDisk Cleanup & check the boxes for Temporary Internet Files, Recycle Bin & Temporary Files.

6) Do a search for "Easyshare Setup" & delete the folder if found.

7) Close all open programs.

8) Close all programs running in the background by opening Windows Task Manager by right clickin in the System Tray & choosing it, thenhighlight each program one by one & click End Task at the bottom.

9) Download Easyshare 6.2 from Kodak's websiteat this link:http://www.kodak.com/global/en/servi...3/10/5224/4509

My Computer & the Easyshare software are now both running beautifully.

Now to go & do it all over again onmy friend's computer!

Thanks for telling us how you solved it. The clear utility might be a help to a friend with EasyShare problems.

You're welcome. However...I tried fixing it up on my friend's computer today & it didn't work like it did on mine! Go figure!!!!! Good luck to your friend.
