Default Is Corel Photopaint 8 adequate?

I still use my old Corel Photopaint 8. I am not familiar with the newer programs. Is my Photopaint still adequate for photoediting or are the newer editing programs, such as the latest Photoshops, so much superior that I should replace it?

I know this is a hard question since I can't adequately describe all the features I use: but I use a lot of Mesh Warping, color adjustment, cloning, masking, sharpening, resizing, diffusing, and contrast adjustment, format changes; and I plan to learn more color/contrast curve adjustment. I also want room to grow, not limiting myself to the tools I use now.
