Default Adobe Premiere v6.5 and Canon A70

Hi,

I have just purchased an A70 and once I have transferred the movie footage to my hard disk, try and open it using Adobe Premire v6.5, so that I can edit it, I get the following error (each and every time....

"Unable to open that file.... File uses an unsupported compression format."

I am using Windows XP Pro and all software is up to date (directX 9).

I can view the file using Quicktime 6, Winamp and Media Player with no problems...

The A70 is in the default movie mode.

Any ideas ?

Another user CA70 has posted the following in the canon section and it works for me.
"Rename the file from ****.avi to ****.mpg. Then open it with ab prem."
