Need your help. I have a family picture froma Grad event. I want to insert my Mom who couldn't attend the event. I have a solo pic of my Mom & I've used the Magic Extractor tool to isolate the background. What tools do I use to get her into the family pic & how do I match my Mom so she's the same size as everyone else?

Thanks so much for any suggestions!

There have been one or two similar questions asked and answered in the Extreme Makeover forum.

If you could tell us which software you are using it would help. I use mostly Photoimpact, and telling you the procedures for that wouldn't help if you have Photoshop.

I'll give you Photoshop instructions assuming you can follow them in Elements.

Open both photos.
Extract your mother.
Use the move tool to drag her into the family picture while the marching ants are still selecting her.
Edit > Transform > Scale.
Hold the Shift key while you use one of the boxes in the corner to size your mother. The shift key keeps her in proportion.
Hit the Enter key when she is the right size – it isn't important that she is in exactly the right place.
Once you have sized her you can drag her to the exact position you want her.
If you want to export as a JPG you have to go Layer > Flatten Image.

Glad it worked out. Evidently you had a picture of your mom that fit in. Often there is a lot of work with density and lighting to make it look right.

One of the advantages of Elements is that you can follow many Photoshop tutorials and instructions.
