After using Paint shop Pro 9 and ACDSEE Pro for a long time, I purchased Photoshop CS2. Installed the software, and opened the application ...... and it scared me! I knew CS2 was a powerful software, but I never knew it was so intimidating to a newbie user like me.

With this in mind, I thought I would ask the users of this forum if they know if an idiots guide book to CS2 is available? I went to my local book shop and checked out a Photoshop manual, however I would need to hire a truck to carry it home, it was that big.

So if anyone knows of a CS2 book for idiots that isn't thousands of pages long, please let me know.

Kind regards

KFA.

All I can say is don't let it scare you. It's accualy easier than it looks.

Go to Popular Photography Magizines web site and check their archives for
some goog tutorials.

welcome to the world of photoshop. please, never buy anything that says"idiots

guide". if you were an idiot you would not be looking for help. there are many helpful

web sites. adobe forums , www.myjanee.comis a very good place to begin. if

you do try the adobe forums, stay with the photoshop elements forums. people

on that forum are very helpful and pleasant. good luck and keep your brain cellsworking

When I started using Photoshop, the single most useful guide that I had was The Photoshop Book for Digital Photographers, by Scott Kelby. Mr. Kelby is one of the biggest names in the Photoshop world and is known for his ability to cut through the crap and give you useful, simply explained information. He has updated that particular book for CS2. Here's a link:

As previously stated in other posts, there is no lack of information available -- much of it free -- about any aspect of PS that you want to explore. The hard part is finding all the time you're going to want to have to investigate and practise!
