I have recently bought a Canon DSLR 450D and Photoshop Elements 6 software. Both have been working a treat and I am enjoying my new hobby. That is until yesterday when I took some RAW images and downloaded them to Elements. When I tried to open them I got an error message saying that they could not be opened as they were the wrong type of file??!! The file extention is .CR2.

I am working on a home PC with XP,

Can anyone help please? :?

Canon raw files may be .CR2 files, but each model is different to the next !
The version of camera raw that you currently have installed does not support your camera, which is supported from 4.4.1
But you might as well install the latest compatible version, 5.1

Link to download ACR and instructions (scroll down a bit) for installing in PSE6......
