I just ordered the NEC2490WUXI and was wondering if I can use the X-RITE EYE-ONE DISPLAY 2 hardware with the NEC software? Is the NEC Spectraview Color Sensor the same as the EYE-ONE DISPLAY 2? Someone said the NEC puck was modified to accept the expanded dynamic range of the monitor.

For the LCD2490WUXi/LCD2490WUXi2 it will behave the same as the X-Rite iOne Display v2 because the display is not wide color gamut and will therefore not use the custom calibration.
Please see the following FAQs: http://www.necdisplay.com/supportcen...ctraview2/faq/ QUESTION: What is the difference between the color sensor used in the SVII-KIT and the new SVII-PRO-KIT? ANSWER: The new SVII-PRO-KIT includes the MDSVSENSOR2, an NEC branded X-Rite iOne Display V2 color sensor that is custom calibrated for increased measurement accuracy with our wide color gamut displays such as the LCD2690WUXi, LCD2690WUXi2, LCD3090WQXi, and P221W. It is backward compatible with standard color gamut displays. The SVII-KIT included an NEC branded X-Rite iOne Display V2 but did not have any custom calibration. |

I just calibrated my NEC2490wuxi with the spectraview II and eyeone display 2 and see a very ,very slight difference. Either I'm doing something wrong or the monitor comes real close to calibration from the factory. Don't get me wrong it looks good both ways just wondering if I wasted my money on the calibrator. Has anyone else found that there is not much difference? Pictures print out the same both ways.
