Default which softwares is good for prof. portrait photography?

I have used couple softwares before, but not too much. Photoshop has Elements 8 and lightroom 2, I just wonder which one is better for portrait photography? Any other softwares outhere that really good for portrait photography?

if u mean for editing the images so skin is smooth and blemish free there are lots of tutorials online on how to do it in photoshop, so it should be same in elements

or u can buy something like portrait professional max 6 .......that gives good results

If you have photoshop elements and lightroom 2. then you have all you need.

use lightroom to organize and do general edits, exposure tweaks, etc. and then export to elements when you need to more specific things like cloning, layers, etc.

you can find a whole host of great information on portrait retouching online. also, there are many plug-ins for both lightroom and photoshop/pselements that can do alot of the work automatically. some are free, some are not.

i did a before and after of a shot of mine with portrait pro max which i love as u can totally customise results...i think the after is just smoothed enough without looking plastic........it doesnt show as much on the small pic but on full size the skin looks pretty amazing on the after, its good software because its purely aimed at portraits.
