Default How to make a mosaic?

I am about to get photoshop CS4 and so i am collecting lots of plugins and tutorials to get me started with it. I am a great lover of flikr and found these photos:

its done with 4 layers
each pic is on its own layer, with each picture scaled to fit 1/4 of the image

You dont even need layers. Just create the background 4X the first shot. Then just copy paste the other 3 pics. Always more than one way to do things in Photoshop.

ahh ok is there an easy way of making the background 4x the size of the photo in photoshop?

There is Image Size and Canvas size. You just go make your canvas size 4x the image size or rather 2x width and 2x height.
