You can do color selection and allot of fine tuning. Pretty much all you can do in lightroom.

and what would the difference with elements be? I've seen some people commenting how elements and lightroom complement each other, does the same apply to aperture?

I know I've often said this before, but I still think Photoshop Elements version 2 is quite the most user-friendly of all Photoshop versions and entirely capable of doing what any photographer can reasonably want, unless perhaps he's a professional with very exacting needs.

That said, I understand that Elements version 2 will not work with a Mac if the O/S is later than Tiger. It certainly works with Tiger, and for that reason when I had a Mac, I did not install Leopard.

I say "when I had a Mac" because I've gone back to Windows - and Windows 2000 at that. The reason - Macs can't run Faststone and I consider both Faststone Image Viewer and Photoshop Elements 2 to be indispensible and as for Windows, I can't abide Windows XP, few people have anything good to say about Vista, and when I tried Windows 7 I didn't like it either. That was because its email process seemed (to me) to be a complete shambles.

Incidentally, the current version of Faststone is 4.2 but I've been informed that Faststone version 4.3 will be issued very shortly.

Go to apps store and get Aperture 3 for a song 44 in uk full version. I t really is a nice program. If you use Iphoto then this follows on with a lot more that you can do. Really like the smart brushes
