What do you want to do that those programs don't provide?

Photoshop Elements is a good program. A light version of the powerhouse Photoshop.

A lot like Paint Shop Pro as an alternative to Photoshop.

And of course, there's always Photoshop

I use two programs Photoshop and Ulead photoimpact. Photoshop requires a larger learning curve but has great features. Ulead will require some training time but it is less intensive than Photoshop. You can purchase Ulead 7 on ebay for about $30 while Photoshop is going run several hundred dollars.

Thanks for the replies. First of all the things i want to do is to make or change for example an over or underexposed image look better and then kind of change a picture like removing the glares for someone glasses and then some fun stuff to change a picture.
The programs i mentioned may have some of these but my learning curve is very steep as well. so i just want to stick with one or two programs. thanks

hi,

for an easy photo optimizing i recommend fixfoto. with two mouseclicks you can additional set the whitebalance for the picture, remove red eyes or remove hot- and stuckpixels and many more.
