Default Night and day between PSCS and PSP8 Why?

I have been using PSP8 and just picked up PSCS. When I open the same photo file in both, the image is completly different. Which one is right?

Unless you're set up for color management with a calibrated monitor, perhaps neither. I don't think PSP8 uses color management, but PSCS does. It would depend on how you set up the preferences.

Default Thanks

I turned off color management in PSCS now images look the same on both programs. Not sure but what does color management do exactly?

Well, if you're going to actually print these images, post them on the Web, send them to a service bureau, etc, wouldn't you want your monitor to show uyou how they will look in these different environments?

Note that you can save and load various set-ups depending on the destination of the image.
