I have a photoshop elements basball card template that I would like to paste a player photograph into. When I paste the photo into the template, it placed it on a layer just like I would expect it to.

The problem is that I would like to crop just that photo layer.

Is this possible?

The only way I can get this to work is to crop the original and they paste it into the template, but that sucks because I have to guess at the cropping dimensions then try to paste it.

Thanks

You could always erase the areas of that layer that you do not want. Been too long since I used Elements that I don't remember which tools you have available. If you don't need to resize the image, reverse the layers so that the photo is the lowerlayer then erase the area of the template layer to expose the image in the lower layer.

use the marquee tool....and then invert the selection and hit delete...

that should work, if elements can invert the selection....which i'm pretty sure it can...lol

and if you need to resize it...look for a "Free Transform"

that all works for the one layer

have fun!
