Photoshop Elements 2.0 has most of the features that a professional would need. It'll be enough editor for you for a long time.

I use BreezeBrowser (a shareware program) for RAW conversion. If you don't understand what that means, you don't need it.

What camera did you get? Some cameras come with the full version of an image editing program. Some even come with Elements already.

I got a Kyocera M410R it came with Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 Starter Edition. I am thinking about upgrading to the full version and getting Elements also.

I have album 2.0 and started with album 1.0 but it keeps getting slower and slower as I add more pictures.

The other day I picked up the freebie from Google http://www.picasa.com/google/ So far I like it a little better than album.

Its faster and has some interesting features. Hey the price is right anyway...

Be careful with this digital camera thing, it can be rather addictive. I started with a 1.2 MP camera a few years ago. Then came a 2.1 Sony, then the 5.0 MP Sony F717 and now a Digital Rebel. Have fun with your camera, and take as many pictures as you can.
