Desperately need to know how to do this. If anyone can help it will be greatly appreciated! I have a black shape and I want to overlay a picture, but I only want the picture to be visible in the black area... Is this possible?

Thanks in advance...

What if you set the picture on a layer beneath the layer with the black shape and then cut out the area where you want the picture to appear?

That would achieve what I wanted so thanks for the idea... It may be easier to do it that way from the start next time. However, I figured it out very late lastnight -*yawn*... I set the overlay mode to Lighten so that it showed over the shape 'cos everything in the picture was lighter than the shape.

Make sense?

Thanks for your help!
