I am currently using a Digital Rebel and am looking into shooting more RAW. To do so, I feel I need to get better software than the File Viewer Utility that came from Canon. C1 has been highly recommended everywhere but when I look at the site, there appears to be several levels with quite a price difference. The LE version I think is $100. My question is, for someone just getting into RAW - what is the real difference between say LE and the SE and higher levels. Or am I better off waiting until Canon's new editing software for the Mark1 can support the 300D (which they say it will -someday )

The biggest difference to me would be that LE allows 20 conversions per batch while SE allows 100 (C1 pro is unlimited). I bought the DRebel only version about a year ago. It only allows 10 at a time. Although you can add to the batch anytime up to the limit, I find this limit very frustrating at times; it requires your attention every few minutes to keep it busy. It would be great to load up a hundred images and go play with my son for a while. Even 20 would be nice.

Nevertheless, you will like C1 alot,it's a great piece of software.

I wish you wisdom.
