I'm trying to replace the hard drive I boot from. I used Norton Ghost to make an exact bootable copy of the drive. Right now I have 3 drives in my computer. C, G, and H. The new bootable drive is H. Is there a way to change the drive letter of H so that it will be drive C? There are programs on the H drive that point to information on the C drive. I want to take the old drive C out.

Thanks,

Henry

Assuming that you are using IDE drives you have 2 channels on IDE and you can have a primary and slave on each channel. Drive C: is the primary drive on the first channel. I'd assume from your description that your new drive is on the second channel and drive G: is the secondary drive on the first channel.

To make you drive H: into C: remove the C: drive and use the ribbon cable from C: on your new drive and make sure that the jumper setting on the new drive is set to primary. If you do this your PC should automatically detect the new drive as C:
