Hi, I use a Samsung 172N TFT monitor running the "Magic Tune" software. I find this gives very good colour reproduction and is almost indistinguishable from an average CRT.

However despite my colours looking good everywhere else, they look aweful in Photoshop CS, for example in Windows image preview the colours look natural realistic, but in CS they are over saturated, dark and unnatural!

So I've been experimenting with the colour profiles, I've tried running the Adobe Gamma wizard but that doesn't seem to help, I've tried turning colour management off and that does make it look like elsewhere in Windows, but gives me messages on everything I open about it being different from the embedded colour profile which is "sRGB IEC61966-2.1"

Can someone tell me how to properly setup an LCD monitor so the colours look natural in Windows and are represented correctly in Photoshop?

Does anyone else use a flatscreen display that can give advice on how to calibrate it?

Well it's fixed, I wish I could tell you how but I honestly don't know! I was playing around with screen setting for ages last night, and today I load an image to try and suddenly it's displaying things correctly! I guess the key was getting Adobe Gamma to take into account what the screen looks like with the MagicTune on or something, I honestly couldn't tell you how I did it, but I'm not touching any screen settings now!
