I have quite a few pictures with blowout on the edged due to the sun and improper camera settings. Is there any way to save them using photo shop elements?

Sometimes you can repair by using clone tool or healing brush. Also, the grain tool can be used to simulate texture, and the old standby, airbrush will sometimes help. Mostly it depends on how much detail is lost, and how much time you want to spend fixing it. If you have an example, you might try posting it to Extreme Makeover forum, and be amazed at what some talented people can do. They also are very good at esplaining their techniques.
