Norton is good but it does miss a lot of things often. You would be suprosed how often a tool that is free does a better job than a tool we pay a lot for strange but true. How old is the PC? are we talking P2 or P3?

Hi Creeduk!

1) P2.

2) My computer was going slow before I took off all the spyware progs

3) But now you've got me worried. I thought Norton's 2006 version was supposed to make Lavasoft and spybot etc redundant?????

Anxious of middle England, :O,

Caroline

I don't know about Norton, but on my system, Lavasoft and Spybot missed things that Spy Doctor detect. So my conclusion is spyware removers are "complement". Run all of what you have installed and trusted, and it will be safer.:G

Like Kcan said you can not run with just one app, you may well be safe but I would still advice you run those 2 they ften get updated quicker than Norton, sad but true. P2 well PS7 is a strain for P2 t runs OK on my older P3 1ghz, It runs great on my P4. Still Memory will help.

Hey, may be you can think about this: at office , I use 2 screens on one computer, one regular and one larger for drawings (CAD, etc ...) . It's very practical since you have all the time a drawing and another app in full screen (outlook or whatever documents). So in your case, you can surf while waiting for the filter job :G.
But of course, it will cost a special video card , ... and another screen :G
