hi i am new to all this but am learning from the forums.what i would like help with please is this photo. took 3 photos used gimp and autostich this is the result and is this any good and could some one improve it i think it would make a good photo on the wall many thanks

Not sure what you are looking for. This has some shadow/highlight and contrast masking in Photoshop. You would want to work up the full sized image unless you plan to make the print small. Even if you printed it landscape on 11 inch wide paper you will have only about 130 PPI.

Maybe something like this? I lightened & sharpened the entire thing in Photoshop & saved it. That spoiled the sky, so I then lassood the top part of the original picture (very slowly and carefully, following as best I could the dividing line between the very dark and lighter parts) & copied that onto the version that I'd sharpened in Photoshop.

I was a bit surprised - seeing that you have an FZ5 - that the Blackboy wasn't sharper. - but there again, your posted picture is only about 82 kb so maybe that accounts for it? I rather like the picture though - it has a sort of old oil painting effect.
