I am looking for a program that does cropping and some enhancing of pics. Any suggestions. The program that came with my Fuji S5200 doesn't do much of anything (FinePixViewer).

Untill you are ready for a major editing program you can start with Picasa from Google. It's a free download from Google. Also there is Irfanview which is also free. Google it. Irfanview is a good editor.

I agree strongly with Old Jim ...

... but if you want a bit more (and a significantly steeper learning curve that prepares you for PhotoShop CS2), get the free GIMP at http://www.gimp.org/. Very powerful ... and often frustrating to the beginner photo editor!

Evidently this older version of Paint Shop Pro 7 is free. Several people have downloaded it and it seems to have no restrictions. It is a competent editor and relatively easy to use. There are also quite a few tutorials online for PSP. http://www.com-puterworks.com/Free_Downloads.htm

I would use Picasa. Aside from its NON DESTRUCTIVE editing (godsend, a real godsend!) it is so easy to use, and even catalogs your pictures (by date) automatically. Great printing, too.

Jonny.

JTF,¬*If your camera supports it, try shooting RAW format. Then download Rawshooter Essentials (free download) and try cropping and manipulating your photos.¬*RAW format is a lossless format.¬* When you get your photos just the way you want them, you convert them too the right sized JPEGS you want.Taking you to the next level, bro.¬*-- Terry¬*
