I try to download the trial version of Adobe Photoshop Element 4.0 and i keep getting the following message "System error...the interface is unknown".

I`ve read around other forums that many people seem to have the same problem and it`s nothing to do with the trial version because they have bought the full version.

No one seems to know why it doesn`t work on some computers ?

Adobe was my first choice but now i`ll probably have to go for "Corel Paint Shop Pro X" which i think is less complete.

Can anyone help ?

Does someone know how to contact "Adobe" ? they don`t have an e-mail contact on their site.

Thank you,

Yes i know this link....you don`t get any help at all from Adobe ...you just read about
the other people who have the same problem as you and people trying to help.....
but that`s just it...no one can help with this problem.

It would have been good to have someone from Adobe.

I sent you a list of phone numbers hoping to help you. I didn't check that you live in Belgium. Sorry about that. Hope you find a solution.

I presume you have an Adobe ID and are on Windows XP, (with a fast broadband connection--364mb File).

I have just started to download the tryout for Elements 4 with no problem and suggest you try again.

I can't find any mention of your problem in the Adobe user to user forums and it may have been a temporary glitch.

Give it another try.

Nothing at all, I was just checking you were downloading from Adobe, rather than elsewhere, which may have been the cause of your problem.

So, you have downloaded Elements 4, but have the problem on installation ??

It is probably safe to say you have tried all suggestions given in the link you posted, so it may be best to try contacting Adobe again, now that the holidays are over. They should be back to full capacity and be able to assist you sooner.

You may want to try downloading Elements 4 again !! There could have been a problem with the first one.

EDIT : I have just downloaded the trial version from here.

Installation from the Setup.exe file went ok and everything works as it should.

I suggest you try downloading again, perhaps run a Registry clean prior to installation in case any corrupt files are still there.

Well i did try to install it twice and both from the same place that you did.

This is why this is so strange....i did everything right and so did all the pther people having the same problem.

I`m getting Paint Shop Pro X.... the trial version works without problems and i seems to be pretty much the same as Element 4.
