Up till now, I've been using Ulead PhotoImpact for all my editing. That program had a really nice "Color Balance" correction, where you told it what the color should be and then use an eyedropper to click on an area. It worked great.

I would normally take a picture of a grey card as my first shot under certain lights and then tell PhotoImpact that the color should be 128,128,128....and Voila! accurate color balance.

I have been playing with CS2 for the last few days, but have not found anything comparable.

If you are shooting RAW, CS2's Camera RAW works wonders. If you are not shooting RAW, you might read herehttp://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/ps.htm#casts for one simple method similar to what you have been using. BTW, PhotoShop CS2 does virtually everything — that's one reason it is so expensive — but its learning curve is steep!

Peter iNova has some nice tips in his books ... here's one on-line method http://www.digitalsecrets.net/secrets/iCC2.html

There are also several plug-ins and actions that help automate the process.

Check here http://www.thelightsrightstudio.com/...l-darkroom.htmfor tons of color filters, tips and actions.

Thanks hgernhardtjr.

The item I was looking for is in the Levels dialog. I knew it was there somewhere, but I guess it'll take me a while to find everything.
