Does Picasa have an easy to use UI? I need something very simple to use and free for the In-laws. Main uses are resizing for emailing and cropping for printing and possibly some minor tweaks. I don't really want to spend a whole day teaching so any ideas would be welcome. The software that came w/ their cam is less than worthless.

Have a look at FastStone Image Viewer

I haven't used this, but I know someone who has decided not to update their ACDsee in preference to continuing using it.

They believe it can do most of what ACDSee does and for free. It also has 5 out of 5 stars at Download.com

Might help your In-laws to familiarise yourself with it first, as with any new package.

The final version 2.4 is downloaded on the right and the latest Beta version of 2.5 is on the left. I'd suggest you try the finalised 2.4 version until the latest has come out of Beta.

I think I've tried every program out there for image organizing and editing and I think Picasa is the easiest. The interface is very user friendly and fast. You can set up the folders so they are either added to the library or not and resizing is a piece of cake.

Thanks Guys,
I will check both out. I will have to go into it with the mindset of which is easiest to use, as what will be easy for me, may not be so simple to someone else(they just got their first computer last month). As you are probably asked also, I seem to be the family member everyone goes to with all ?? about digital cams.
Anyone else have any others you feel are worth checking out?

Another vote for Picasa if you're looking for a very intuitive, easy to use editor. Although I favor FastStone Image Viewer because it has more features that I need, I also use Picasa and find it to be very user friendly for a novice.

Thanks for all the ideas guys, hopefully I will get some time to give them a try this weekend and see which one might be the easiest for them to use. Thanks again!
