im new to photoshop and have two questions about photo processing.

1. How do you denoise a picture?

2. lets say i have an image with a tree with tons of tiny branches, or a woman with hair blowing in the wind. how do you select all that without having to spend hours with the magic wand tool clicking everywhere?

Good questions. You could try the Despeckle filter, but probably your best bet is to get an actual noise-reduction program like Neat Image or Noise Ninja. Both have free versions that you can try out.

Really fine selection techniques are usually fairly complicated. I think that I have seen a few free Photoshop tutorials online that explain how. Likely you could find some with a google safari.

I have a book that I think is really good that has a section on fine selection, also. It's called,"Digital Photography Expert Techniques," by Ken Milburn. Got it off Amazon for about $20.00.
