I am planning to go to the Thanksgiving parade in Philly. I am thinking to shoot on P mode, but don't know what ISO to pick, white balance etc. I know depending on the weather, how much sun will make a difference. Also I am planning on looking in the view finder prior to the parade, play with the white balance and see which looks the best. I am thinking my 55-200 lens will be used more than my 18-55, though I will bring both. Fill flash won't be too helpful with taking photos of the floats. Not sure if shooting in RAW will be a big advantage with the options on my camera and software to work with later.

I am also thinking about shooting in Aper mode when I want to focus on the subject and leave the background slightly blurred as well. Hmmm, as long as the weather is nice, it should be fun day. If it is sunny, would you choose ISO of 200---400?

I have just bought a Nikon P90 (Used but MINT). It also came with
a Precision Design DSLR300 External Flash Bar, but I'm not sure
whether the two pieces ever worked with each other. Does anybody
have any experience on these two pieces. Or, is there any external
Flash that will work with the Nikon P90, since it does not have a
Hot-Shoe like the Kodak Z980. Unfortunately the DSLR300 user manual
was missing, so if possible I would also like information on how I might
get my hands on one of these manuals.
Thanks,

Hey Guys,

I am new to the world of DSLR's Ive messed with my friends and liked it a lot so that's why I decided to go with the canon XS.

Now I got a new kit for a good deal so I have the kit lens but I wanted to get a couple other lenses. Namely a walk arround lens with nice zoom and a fisheye lens.

The 2 lenses im considering for my walk arround is the Canon 55-250mm IS IS f/4-5.6 or the Sigma 55-200mm now I am leaning toward the Canon because of the IS but The Sigma is less and I have heard its a good lens for what it is.

For my Fisheye I was thinking about the ZENITAR 16mm f/2.8 because I have heard good things about it but I am open to ther lenses if anyone else had any suggestions

I am really excited to get my camera and can't wait to start shooting.

I plug in the camera and turn it on as always and the Finepix viewer pops up. I click "Load Pictures" and then "From Camera". It then goes back to the original menu without uploading the pictures. I've tried this several ways, like turning the camera on after clicking "From Camera" when it tell me to connect it and turn it on. It does the same thing. This is SO. FRUSTRATING.:mad1::(

I just purchased a Canon T1i this afternoon. On my Palm Treo, I use a screen protector for he LCD screen. Is something like that required or necessary for the LCD screen on the camera? Also, do I need to buy a lens protector for the lens that came with the camera? One more question, I always owned point and shoot cameras or disposible cameras. What is the learning curve on this type of camera. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I am a new photographer and have my first photo shoot for a large group (about 60-65). I went to scope out the location today and it is a small restaurant party room. I have a space picked out for the photo and have decided to leave the group standing and use a ladder to shoot above them. I have two questions, 1. How do I use a tripod if I am using a ladder? I have seen that suggested, but have no idea how I would pull that off.
2. Lighting issue. There is minimal light in the small room and I wanted to just shoot with my flash that attaches to my hot shoe on my camera.

Is that type of lighting going to be ok or do I need to pull out some bigger equipment (which I would really rather not)?

Thanks!
S.
