Panasonic ZR1/ZX1 indoor photos and videos please

Most reviews of the ZR1/ZX1 rave about the camera, but the forums from users state that the camera has poor indoor/low light photos, inferior to even the ZS3 which itself has a bad rep for indoor photos.

Would appreciate any ZR1/ZX1 owners if they could share some links or post some photos taken indoors under low light of people/kids since i hope to get this camera for my wife and most of the photos would be of our one year old kid indoors.

Any sample videos also taken indoors would be great, as I could not find any good examples of indoor videos in youtube using this camera.

A few more questions

How is the shutter lag + autofocus with flash performance? Is it able to focus and take a shot fast enough to capture toddlers on the move in indoor low light conditions?

How is the flash coverage indoors? Is it able to take group photos under low light conditions with sharp outputs?

I started playing around with my FZ35/38 and I took some nice pictures playing around with the "P" mode and adjusted the color and contrast/saturation to +1 and noise reduction to -1. All my pictures were outdoors. Does anyone have any recommended settings for indoor shots ?

Also, I live in very a bright/sunny state (Florida), does anyone recomend always attaching the hood for best IQ on a sunny day outdoors ?....is there a difference in IQ ?

I'm also thinking of taking some pictures of the decorated homes during the holidays at night, what would be the optimal settings for that ?

FZ35 Slide Show Question for Owners

I posted this question on DP review but got no responses. I agree slide shows are a very minor consideration for most when buying a camera, but I have found this function important for my uses. Hopefully, an FZ35 owner on this forum will ride to my rescue with an answer.
I have read the manual and am not clear about the slide show options on the FZ35. I'm hoping to be able to do is make slide shows with video clips and stills both included, in chronological order.
With my Canon's, I play mixed slide shows (stills and videos) into a DVD recorder w/hard drive and make DVDs from that. My FZ28 won't do this,....in fact, it won't play videos as a slide show period. Otherwise, it’s a great camera and I plan on getting the FZ35, which I hope has the mixed slide show capability.
The Panasonic promo info hints the above can be accomplished with the Z35 but the manual indicates either stills OR movies can be shown as a slide show,.....but doesn't state they can be done together in chronological sequence. I'm hoping the "All" menu option means both stills and movies. Any help from owners appreciated. Thanks!
Jack

Hi .... has anyone come across this problem? I have a TZ5, which has been great, but it's developed a zoom noise problem. When using the zoom, it seems to be moving much slower (min to max) than it used to and it sounds as though its really straining and groaning against perhaps a rubber seal inside. It's been back to the dealer (bought online) and returned in the same condition and untouched. I intend to telephone them but wonder if anyone has come across this problem too.
Thanks.

Is there a ring light that's compatible with the Raynox macro lenses? The commercial lights I've seen online don't seem to have a large enough ID to accommodate the OD of the Raynox snap-on lenses, which means light would be blocked by the Raynox mounting ring.

Also, since the Raynox lenses require an adapter tube with the FZ28, are there any ring lights with female threads to accept these lenses? The MSN lenses have no front threads, so the ring light would necessarily mount at the rear of these.

On a recent vacation, I started having trouble downloading images from my DMC-TZ5 to my Apple MacPro laptop. I was averaging around 200 pictures a day, and the first 100 or so downloaded fine. (I use a Lexar card reader.) After that, the laptop either refused to "see" them at all... or downloaded them, but wouldn't open them. I thought it was a bad memory card first, but bought a new one and had the same problem. Reformatting the card doesn't help. When I get an error message, it says something about the files being incomplete.

As a dedicated Mac person, I'm mortified to admit that my husband's PC has no trouble with the images... and images downloaded to his PC, then transferred to my laptop seem fine. It's an ok workaround, but pretty inconventient. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Is there any solution? (I checked, and I'm running the latest version of the firmware, ver. 1.2.)
