Guys,

I never really paid attention to this when buying CF cards. Till today when I read that the Nikon D700 only supports Type 1. How do we know which are "type 2" just short of looking at the side of a box? I looked online but didn't see any one specify which where Type 1 and Type 2. Are the Type 2 the older no longer produced cards?? I have a D300 now and might later add a "D700s" or D3s.

Hi,

I recently purchased a canon 7D and will soon be going on a long vacation where I will be shooting a lot of video.
I need to get lots of batteries and memory cards since I will not have power handy every day.

How many cards and what size does anyone recommend me to get?

Thinking of getting 32GB cards, but how many would I need?
I've realized I can't shoot that much on a 4GB card. Only around 12-15min.
So if I got a 32 GB card, I should be able to get around 1.5 to 2 hours of footage. So if I film for around 8-10 hours a day, I would need around 4-5 32 GB cards. Is this correct?
That's for just video though and I will be taking photos as well. Would be a bit stupid if I didn't. =o)

Does anyone have any suggestions or tips about this?

Thankful for any answer.

Core Micro SDHC Card Error

I purchased a 16GB SDHC card, made by Core Micro, to use in a brand new Canon FS200 digital video camera. I took a few videos and some stills during the first two weeks or so that I had the camera, and was able to view the videos and images on the camera during that time.

One day I turned the camera on, and got a "Check the Card" message. I am now unable to take anymore videos or images, but my main concern is losing the ones that I have already taken (very important to us!). My computer doesn't recognize the card when I plug it into the card reader. I've tried a local photography store, their computers can't recognize the card either. They tried it in a small image printer, and the still images were viewable on the printer's screen.

I need these videos and image files recovered!!! Any tips?

I recentely had a Canon Powershot XS10 IS with an 8 GB SDHD memory card. Yesterday, I upgraded to a Nikon D3000, which is pretty amazing. But one problem. The Nikon somehow won't read my memory card! I mean, I put my memory card into the Nikon and I can take pictures and they show up on the card, but they won't show the pictures on it from my Canon.

Anybody know why this is and how I can fix it or solve it??

Thank SO much!!
