I am looking to get a tripod for the Nikon D90. Any suggestions?

Camera is used on hiking trips, family outings, home, vacations, weddings, pretty much with everything.

Want something not to heavy and that possibly goes to 65-67" and colapses down to fit on the side of a backpack when hiking.

This is all new, so up for all suggestions.

My Velbon Sherpa 250R/F tripod has one leg that will slowly get tight in two of the three sections over a few weeks.
The bottom section yesterday became completely stuck in and the next section was getting tighter.
After continually trying to pull it out last night, this morning and this afternoon it finally came free and now inexplicably, but happily, both sections move freely.
Should I do anything to prevent this happening again ?
Thanks,

Hi everyone,
I found a Bogen 3431 at a yard sale but its missing the head. My question is are there specific heads for this tripod or is it to old to find a replacement head? I see that Adorama has heads for Bogen but i don't know if they will work with this one. Any suggestion would be great.

Thanks,
