Default New Flash arrived

Lense is cracked, but the unit still appears to function. Is this a big deal, will it effect picture quality? I really hate to mess with sending it back if I'm not going to notice any performance issues.

It should not affect the flash.

If you plan on selling it later in the future. I personally would send it back.
Canon 40D and Canon 7D

send it back, if you brought it new. You should have it in perfect condition.
