Default $20 Slave Flashes and exposed film strip

Found references to $20 Slave Flashes and exposed film strip to cover flash on Nikon 995 to allow IR only to trigger slave flashes. Do you know of retail sources of items?

Pretty much any camera shop should have a slave unit, though they might not all work off the ifrared residual from the on-board flash. Even if it doesn't, you should be able to tone down the on-camera flash enough so the slave dominates.

Make sure you turn off any red-eye reduction pre-flash from your on-board unit.
