I'm looking at placing a Vivitar 285HV flash on a light stand with an umbrella, and would like to sync the flash through the Fuji hotshoe, since there's no place for a sync cord. Anybody have recommendations for a good adapter?? Thanx!!

Since the 285HV should have a save sync voltage of 12volts, you can just go with any hotshoe to PC adapter (assuming that's what you meant by sync cord adapter)...if your camera was one that didn't even like that high a voltage (some Canons don't like above 6volts) or you were using a flash that had a high trigger voltage, a Wein SafeSync would be the device to get which clamps the voltage down to a safe voltage for the camera.
