I am looking for a Slave Flash to be triggered with my Nikon D50 built-in flash. I am on budget I can't go for SB-600 or SB-800 infact if i want to go for them then i would like to consider Sigma DG 500 Super instead.

I am looking for a low priced Slave flash ( $50 - $80 ) with GN around 100and i am considering the Vivitar DF200, Sunpak 383 Super.

I would like to know if there are any other better models to use them remotely in slave mode. Also between these 2 models which is the best. Looks like Vivitar has a learning system which will help it to know how many pre-flashs to skip. But how are the other cheap model know abouthow many pre-flashes to skip like Sunpak DS-20.

I heard the Vivitar DF200 does not remember its pre-flash settings when it is switch off. I would like to know about it from Vivitar DF200 owners.

The Sunpak DS-20 is a very minimal slave flash without much power and with a very narrow acceptance, or triggeringangle. It only works reliably when mounted parrellel to and adjacent to the host camera on an accessory flash bracket. The least expensive slave falsh that I would seriously consider is the Bower SFDS followed by the Phoenix ZBIS-92, the Vivitar DF-200, and the Sunpak 383.
